Sofia City Prosecutor's Office will summon the Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria Kiril Petkov to appear as a witness for re-interrogation

31 March 2022

Sofia City Prosecutor's Office will call on the Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria Kiril Petkov to appear and testify again as a witness in the case of possible extortion of Vassil Bozhkov.

His initial interrogation carried out by an investigating police officer at the General Directorate National Police that turned out to be an incompetent authority, was the first investigative action to initiate pre-trial proceedings. In view of this, the interrogation conducted on March 17, 2022 has no legal value and should be validated. The interrogations of Boyko Borisov, Vladislav Goranov, Sevdalina Arnaudova and other witnesses were repeated on the same grounds. Mr. Kiril Petkov will be summoned to appear in the building of Sofia City Prosecutor's Office on April 4, 2022 - Monday, and the witness will be given two more additional dates in view of his possible official engagement.

Sofia City Prosecutor’s Office is taking active steps in the investigation and will further inform the Bulgarian society.
