Prosecutor General

Sotir Tsatsarov was born in Plovdiv in 1966.

He graduated the English Language High school in Plovdiv and LL.M. in the Faculty of Law from the University of Sofia „St. Kliment Ohridski”.

In 1992 he became a judge at the Regional Court of Assenovgrad and four years later he was appointed as a Chairman of the above mentioned court.

In 1998 he was appointed as a Deputy-chairman of the District Court of Plovdiv and a year later he became its Chairman.

As a judge, he was sitting on criminal cases.

He has participated in the capacity of an expert in missions to projects of the European Union for reformation of the judicial systems in Croatia, Montenegro, Macedonia and Albania.

Married, with one child.

Mr. Sotir Tsatsarov was elected as Prosecutor General on December 20 2012. On December 21 2012 under the President’s Mr. Rosen Plevneliev decree, he was appointed as Prosecutor General of the Republic of Bulgaria.
